SANTA CLARITA, Calif., March 23, 2008 -- CARe, Inc. (Community Assisted Recovery), a non-profit organization that provides free information and disaster recovery counseling to victims of a natural disaster, focusing primarily on insurance claims and construction issues, invites homeowners and others affected by last October's Santa Clarita Valley wildfires to a special meeting starting 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at the SCV Senior Center. CARe counselors have already assisted many families who were affected by the Santiago Canyon, Corral Canyon (Malibu) and San Diego County fires.The organization is a consumer advocate group funded through grants and private donations and receives no monies from any special interest groups. All SCV families and individuals who were victims of the wildfires are encouraged to attend this free meeting. Organizers suggest you please bring in copy of your insurance policy and any related correspondence. The SCV Senior Center is located at 22900 Market Street in Newhall, zip 91321.
